About Us

The Farmers Credit Union was founded in 1953. The first location was an office located in the Farmers Co-op Building. The original capital was obtained by proceeds from a bake sale.
Anyone who is a resident of Ellis County or adjoining counties is eligible to be a member of the Farmers Credit Union. Family members are also eligible for membership regardless of residence location. If you move from the area, membership can be retained. ONCE A MEMBER ALWAYS A MEMBER is the rule. Membership is obtained by opening a "share account" with a savings balance. This is nothing more than a savings account.
For more information regarding membership and eligibility, please visit our Membership page.
The Credit Union is managed by a group of volunteers. These people are comprised of three groups; the Board of Directors, a Credit Committee and the Supervisory Committee. They are all elected at the Credit Union annual meeting.
